First time volunteering as an Ambassador? Click here
If you have not volunteered with us before you will need to fill out our Ambassador Registration Form. This will take you 5 minutes. Your application will be approved within 72 hours and you can then return to this event listing page to sign up. Alternatively, you can reserve your place immediately after completing the registration form by emailing info@formthefuture.org.uk
Ambassador support for this event will be supplied exclusively by our partner organisation. If you are a colleague from Illumina who would like to take part, please email the Form the Future team.
A hands-on challenge, designed to help pupils practice and recognise the value of transferrable skills including teamwork, leadership, problem solving and communication.
Ambassadors each support a class of students, broken into smaller teams, as they compete against one another to build a build a tower using only spaghetti and marshmallows within a set time period.
During the activity, you will help the students think about how to approach the task and introduce an extra challenge to get them using their transferable skills. Once the task has been completed and a winner is declared, each team reflects on what went well and how the members of their group have demonstrated transferrable skills… or could have done better!
The Ambassador then shares a short presentation and Q&A, explaining how they use the transferrable skills explored today, in their own role and everyday work.
If you have any further questions about volunteering, please get in touch with our Ambassador Engagement Manager Dawn Easby Thwaits on deasby@formthefuture.org.uk or 01223 948939.
